A story of quality, innovation,
and fine eye for detail.
A story of quality, innovation,
and fine eye for detail.
Our story begins with Attilio Bindi, a Tuscan restaurateur and founder of the company. Attilio arrives in Milan with his family in 1946 and decides to open a small pastry shop in historic via Larga, with sons Romano and Rino. Armed with just his bike, Attilio launches a speedy home delivery service that covers most of the city and, in so doing, creates a brand-new way to enjoy and consume sweet treats.
World War II is over,
and Attilio Bindi
completely revolutionizes Italy’s pastry
and dessert industry by launching
not only his small patisserie,
but also an innovative and forward-thinking
order and delivery system
for Milan-based restaurants.
Bindi soon becomes
synonymous with exceptional desserts
and spotless customer service.
The Zuccotto is born
In the back of the old pastry store,
the Bindi family establishes its lab,
where Attilio’s sons Romano and Rino
– who inherited their father’s passion
for the trade – begin to create new desserts.
And this is how the famous Zuccotto
comes to life.
Originally, the Zuccotto was a
semifreddo ice creamfrom Florence,
that the Bindis revisit
and transform into a cake.
This was a genius intuition:
with no refrigerators widely
available at the time, the Zuccotto
could be storedand served up
at restaurants easily and safely.
What used to be a small pastry lab
becomes gradually bigger,
with more and more pastry helpers
joining the team to craft new products.
This is the year of the Profiterole,
a delightful waterfall
of delectable cream puffs soaked in chocolate.
Attilio Bindi
was not only a great pastry chef,
but a brilliant communicator, too.
With his genuine passion and enthusiasm,
he ropes his sons Romano and Rino
into all his projects.
The team wears many hats
– pastry chefs in the morning
, home delivery drivers in the afternoon,
and PR and customer relations experts
in the evening.
Thanks to the passionand dedication that Attilio and his sons
demonstrateday after day, the Bindi name soon
becomes a recognized
and much-loved brand in the city.
But that’s only the beginning
of something much bigger.
The Bindi family expands its
operations to cover most areas of Milan.
In 1962,
Attilio Bindi passes away but his sons
Romano and Rino
take over smoothly,
due to their genuine passion
for the trade.
In this period,
the Marengo and the Tartufo are born.
In this crucial year,
Bindi turns from a small lab into
a 4000 sqm production plant,
following the brilliant idea of distributing
products through a cold chain.
Thanks to this great intuition,
new products are created,
such as the Tiramisù,
which garners worldwide popularity
thanks to Bindi.
The company continues
its national expansion.
A new plant is opened,
just outside Milan,
measuring a total of 30.000 sqm.
At this point, Bindi is an undisputed industry
leader and gears off for international expansion.
The famous “Fantasia nel Dessert”
logo is born.
This aims to communicate a new side to Bindi
and showcase not only its cakes
but its ever-growing
range of desserts.
1990: The first Bindi products land in the US,
exclusively available in New York City.
1995: Bindi begins to expand
from the East Coast towards South and West,
and opens a new Bindi US branch
in Totowa (NJ).
2000: The Belleville (NJ) production site is
inaugurated and begins to produce
ice creams, sorbets, and filled fruit.
2006: The Los Angeles branch opens,
allowing for better and more
comprehensive coverage of the West Coast,
from Vancouver to San Francisco and Phoenix.

2008: The Belleville production site
expands and starts to produce
American Style pastry treats.
2013: The new logistics hub moves
